Since blogger only allows me a 6 image post, and we are indeed photographers, the road trip wrap up is going to be done in installments to maximize the photos. It has been a strange two and a half weeks in the otherwise stationary work of Kat and Duck. We started off flying to San Francisco for a week to
Pan American Death Trip Pt. 1
1. visit family
2. get a break from NYC
3. pick up my car
4. get a decent burrito
We managed to accomplish our goals, but as always remembered things we wanted to do as soon as we left the city. Then again there is always next time, and I forgot how little time we had to have fun and try to get a photo shoot in! Oops, I always over book things to do! We got our photo shoot, and some dim sum, dinner with Family at the Citrus club, checked out the new Academy of Sciences, got sushi with designer friends Kristin and Richard (of Hiss and Hearse fame), went to Sacramento for a friend’s salon opening, and went sake tasting!
So we embarked for our week and a half on the road from California, through Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, Delaware, Pennsylvania and back to Jersey and New York. Ok, so I didn’t really look at the map when I got the amazingly bright idea to drive the car across country in July (hot hot hot!)!
Also among the bright ideas with dim outcomes was the idea to blog everyday in the road. I mean, we did bring computers and cameras with us, but then was the tricky issue of internet and time. So the facebooks and the twitters were kept up to date but the blog withered away in a ditch shortly outside San Francisco, but never fear, it has been revived and it is alive again!
After SF we drove down to visit our makeup artist friend Courtney in LA for 2 days. Good fun, though our photo shoot totally fell through! Had some more delightful Mexican food and a lot of drinks before running off. Weather was hot but nothing compared to later in the trip! We then drove to the Salton Sea, if you have no idea what I am talking about I would go goole it now. I mean NOW, go on, I’ll wait for you to get back…… So that was pretty rad but that also meant that we did not have time to stop by Joshua Tree (the hippy burner inside of me cried a tear), again something to put on that next time list.
